2016, the Year of Immunology reaches its end. As the 50th anniversary meeting of the Société Française d’Immunologie (SFI) was just celebrated in Paris, the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille Luminy (CIML) comes back on its 40-year anniversary, celebrated in September.

What changes does the vascular tree of the lymph node undergo during immune responses? According to the research groups of Marc Bajénoff from the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (CIML, CNRS, INSERM, Aix-Marseille University) and Frederick Klauschen from the Pathology Institute of the Faculty of Medicine in Berlin, it forms new vascular cells that are joined end-to-end, before eliminating both old and new vessels.

The Laboratoire Hai-Tao He and Didier Marguet at the Centre d'Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy in partnership with Christophe Lamaze's research team from the Institut Curie and Céline Galès' team from the Institut des Maladies Métaboliques et Cardiovasculaires in Toulouse have jointly published an interdisciplinary study in Cell on August 11th 2016.
