From September 15-17, 2016, as the CIML celebrates its 40 years

2016 is the Year of Immunology. Less than a month after the "World of Immunology" meeting at Melbourne and before the 50th anniversary meeting of the Société Française d’Immunologie (SFI) to be held in November in Paris, 23 of the leading immunologists in the world will meet in September in Marseille to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille Luminy (CIML).

This exceptional platform will consist of three days of conferences, and all facets of the immunological revolution and the new opportunities it offers clinicians and their patients will be discussed. On this occasion, a special tribute will be paid to two researchers who founded the CIML and contributed to the advent of the famous "French School of Immunology": Professor Michel Fougereau, and Professor François Kourilsky, unfortunately deceased in 2014.

In addition to the CIML teams, its parent organizations - CNRS, Inserm, Aix-Marseille Université - and the former Directors of the Center, this event will combine the Marseille Immunopôle cluster, Grand Luminy, the three spinoffs of CIML -  Immunotech (which has become Beckman Coulter), Innate Pharma and HalioDx (formerly Ipsogen) - and long-standing business partners like BD and Myltenyi Biotech. Finally, three global health leaders, leading actors in immunotherapy are partnering with CIML for this event: Bristol Myers-Squibb, MSD and Sanofi. For this anniversary, CIML has also received the support of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council and the city of Marseille.

The conferences taking place in the amphitheater of CIML will be broadcast simultaneously to 10 different halls in France; at Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Nice and Rennes. Thus, more than 500 people will participate directly in the Marseille stage of the Year of Immunology.
