CIML is proud to announce the active participation of Pierre Milpied, Deputy Director, team leader, and scientific manager of the genomics platform and CB2M hub at CIML, as one of the three co-leaders of the ST-omics structuring action implemented by Cancéropôle PACA.
The ST-omics (Spatial Transcriptomics) action aims to structure a network of experts in Spatial Transcriptomics, an innovative technology allowing high-throughput analysis of gene expression within their tissue of origin, with spatial resolution below the size of a cell.
CIML, represented by Pierre Milpied, is one of the three pioneering sites in « Région Sud » in the use of Spatial Transcriptomics technologies. This involvement testifies to CIML's scientific excellence and its commitment to developing cutting-edge technologies in cancer research.
Pierre Milpied and his team, in collaboration with their colleagues from other institutions, significantly contribute to the ambitious objectives of ST-omics:
1. Deploy cutting-edge Spatial Transcriptomics equipment in the region.
2. Establish a group of experts in histogenomics and computational biology.
3. Offer training and analysis solutions for the regional scientific community.
ST-omics federates the skills of three major institutions in « Région Sud », each represented by a co-leader:
• CIML in Marseille (Pierre Milpied's team)
• IPMC in Valbonne (Pascal Barbry's team)
• CRCM in Marseille (Emmanuelle Charafe-Jauffret's team)
This synergy allows access to cutting-edge technologies such as 10x Genomics Visium, Vizgen MERScope, 10x Genomics Xenium, and Miltenyi MACSima.
