Our objective is to improve training in Immunology and nurture an interactive community of young scientists to mature into the future leaders in the field.

The actions provided during the program are intended to encourage the emergence of autonomous and critical thinking and active participation to the life of the Institute. Tailored training and support to facilitate the access to the scientific career are provided.  

1) PhD supervision

A theses committee  will advice  on PhD projects, follow their progress  and provide support for scientific and personal development

2) Lectures and seminars

Students can profit of the large variety of research seminars and lectures series from internal and invited speakers offered at the CIML but also at neighboring institutions. Specific tutorials are organized around a selection of research seminars of major impact.

3) International exchange programs

Our students can participate to an exchange scheme with the Immunology program at Harvard medical school. This implies lab rotations between the two institutions and participation to jointly organized events.

4) Students symposia and retreat

Annually a dedicated PhD symposium provides an adequate forum for students to practice presentation and discussion of their data among peers. These forums also provide excellent opportunity for networking and building new collaborations. On a biennial basis a CIML retreat is organized gathering together around social and scientific events the whole CIML community .

5) Career development

The CIML helps students to plan for their future with regularly organized career talks and workshops dedicated to grant / job applications.

6) Travel support

Travel support is provided for students to attend international conferences or support visit to collaborating laboratories. Regularly major international conferences on immunology are organized at the institute.

7) New comer’s day

1st year students participate to introductory sessions to overview the infrastructure at the CIML, introduce to the core platforms and common services and various facilities located in the campus.

8) Social network

The CIML fosters the creation of a strong social community among students. Weekly happy hours and regular seasonal events are organized to promote social interaction.

9) Welcome assistance

Newly arrived students are assisted upon their arrival in Marseille to help their acquaintance with the city and French administrative issues.
