2016, the year of Immunology is also the 40th anniversary of CIML, a unique place for research and education in Immunology, at the avant-garde of translational science since the late 70’s.

This year the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy celebrates 40 years. Founded by visionary researchers François Kourilsky and Michel Fougereau, the center’s main objective was to make Marseille a key place for research and education in immunology at the crossroads of basic research, clinics and industry.

24 of the world leading immunologists met in September in Marseille on this occasion during three days of conferences to discuss all facets of the immunological revolution and its new  therapeutic perspectives offered to clinicians and their patients.

A large part of these conferences can be viewed at  https://vimeo.com/channels/ciml40

All these conferences took place in the amphitheater of CIML and were broadcasted simultaneously to 10 different halls in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Nice and Rennes, allowing more than 500 people to participate to the Marseille stage of the Year of Immunology.
A special tribute has been paid to two researchers who founded the CIML and contributed to the advent of the famous "French School of Immunology": Professor Michel Fougereau, and Professor François Kourilsky, unfortunately deceased in 2014.
